Now student body president for the World Campus Student Government and founder of Penn State World Campus for THON, Serfass is putting his strongest suit into practice.Ĭurrently in his junior year through Penn State World Campus, Serfass is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in security and risk analysis (SRA) with a minor in political science. Being a leader is both a goal and a mission that Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology student Daniel Serfass has set out to accomplish. Requests for the Zoom link and other inquiries about the lecture series can be directed to Katrina Kasper at PARK, Pa. in the Stuckeman Family Building Jury Space and via Zoom. “The lectures support the SCDC mission of using digital technology to promote an inclusive and sustainable built environment.”Įach of the talks will be held at 12 p.m. “The lecture series includes speakers from the SCDC, the Hamer Center and E+D, which are affiliated with the Stuckeman School's three departments of architecture, graphic design and landscape architecture,” said José Pinto Duarte, director of the SCDC and Stuckeman Chair in Design Innovation. Titled "A home away from home? Architecture and the humanitarian-development divide in response to protracted forced migration crises," this lecture will be given by Nasim Motalebi, an informatics doctoral student in the College of Information Sciences and Technology and SCDC researcher. The research units housed in the Penn State College of Architecture’s Stuckeman School – the Stuckeman Center for Design Computing, Hamer Center for Community Design, and the Ecology plus Design research initiative – are hosting a series of six lectures during the 2022-23 academic year to highlight the research work that’s being done within the school.
